I have been preparing for this event for months now, especially the Agent Pitch that comes with each registration. Carmen, my book coach, helped me put together a perfect pitch for “Between Tehran and the Caspian Sea,” and my friend Jonanne suggested the perfect agent. I won’t say her name to not jinx it, but I’m pretty psyched to meet her. Maybe she’ll ask for more after hearing about my unique story, maybe she won’t and I leave with just the experience. What matters is that I am in a much better place now than I was at the beginning of the year and have come a long way to make my childhood dream that much closer to reality.
If you happen to attend the Surrey International Writers Conference on Saturday, October 24th, and happen to spot me there, feel free to say hi. I will not recognize you at first (obviously,) but if you mention the Writing Café, I would know that’s how you found me. Best of luck to all who are attending.
