Despite my love/hate relationship with traveling, due to my absolute dislike of long distance transportation, there could be moments during a trip that everything comes together is such a beautiful way, it warrants a pause and reevaluation. Some places are perfect metaphors for a slice of heaven, such as this coffee shop my family and I found on the boardwalk of Malagueta beach, in Malaga, Spain, amidst a lineup of restaurants and bars. This little gem of outdoor seating and delicious pastries, was the haven I was looking for. We were lucky to always find a table there and enjoy their frothy cappuccinos and amazing, baked goods. But the cherry on top was the entertainment provided by a couple of young musicians who always played cheerful Spanish tunes on their guitars on the other side of the boardwalk across from the café. Their music made the atmosphere lively and us wanting to stand and cheer.

I may despise airports and flights. I may feel disoriented in new places, and not like the sensation of being uprooted and unmoored. But finding a place that wins in every category, elevates the coffee experience to stratospheric heights, and gives a feeling of relaxation, joy, and fun, is reason enough to make it all worth it.
