From January of last year until a month ago, I was deeply immersed in writing and editing my book. Alongside my regular job, I barely had time to focus on anything else, like my social media accounts. During this time major changes occurred. Twitter became X, and the topics that once interested me became too polarizing and problematic. It is hard to engage after so long even without these issues. It caused a delay of almost two years and raised a question about the dilemma it presented. We all need breaks, especially when life becomes overwhelming or social media itself becomes a source of anxiety. Psychologists recommend logging off and focusing on yourself in these situations, but how long should one do it? For those of us with come-back anxiety, how could we maintain a healthy social media presence while also protecting our mental health?
